Venessa Bryant's Family Celebrates 1st Christmas Without Kobe & Gianna | "Always Together, Never Apart" Says Photo Caption

Sharing a throwback picture on Instagram, Venessa Bryant reflected on the memories of the past holiday seasons along with a more recent photograph of herself sitting with her three other daughters.

It's been nearly a year since NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Onore Bryant passed away in a tragic helicopter crash, but the pain still remains fresh. On Friday, the Bryant family celebrated the first of many Christmases without their beloved Kobe and Gianna. Sharing a throwback picture on Instagram, Venessa Bryant reflected on the memories of the past holiday seasons along with a more recent photograph of herself sitting with her three other daughters.

The first black and white photograph shows the 38-year-old mother seated on a white couch with 17-year-old Natalia, 4-year-old Bianka, and 1-year-old Capri. All of them had donned similar black dresses, matching shoes, and an endearing smile. In the next slide, the family photograph included the lost souls, Gigi and Kobe, who died on January 26. The caption of the post read: Always Together, Never Apart Together Forever In Our Hearts. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Kobe, Vanessa, Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri.

Kobe and Gigi may be gone but not forgotten, not just by their family but also by their friends and fans. Venessa recently shared a quick-moving image on her Instagram story showing everyone that Kobe and Gianna's stockings had been hung on the family's fireplace, as reported by PEOPLE. In yet another video uploaded on her story, Vanessa displayed a gingerbread house that was gifted by Khloe Kardashian. According to ET Online, the mother pointed at the names mentioned on the roof, which included the late basketball legend's name and their daughter Gigi's. "Khloe, thank you so much, it's beautiful. I love it," said Vanessa showing off the edible house which read on the front, "The Bryant Family."

The adorable couple met on the set of a music video in 1999, when Kobe was 20 and Venessa was 17, reports PEOPLE. They began dating soon, and as soon as Venessa turned 18, the NBA star popped the question. In April 2001, they tied the knot and eventually welcomed their daughters Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, Capri. Back in April, the pair would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary if it had not been for the devastating accident that claimed the life of Venessa's precious husband and daughter. This note written by the grieving wife on her late husband's birthday reveals the depth of her pain and heartache.

To commemorate her first anniversary without her husband, Vanessa posted an old picture of the so-in-love couple with the caption: My king, my heart, my best friend. Happy 19th wedding anniversary baby. I miss you so much. I wish you were here to hold me in your arms. I love you. In the days leading up to her anniversary, Vanessa also shared an adorable video of Kobe talking about how the moment he knew she was the one. “You know, it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly makes a person the one for you, but you just know,” he said in the throwback video. "Love is a funny thing. I can’t explain it and I can’t understand it. All I know is, she caught my heart and I just knew that she was the one," he continued. "Vanessa, she’s very strong. She’s very strong-willed."

Venessa honored another milestone—the fourth year since her husband retired from the NBA. "My husband worked his ass off for 20 years. Gave it his all. All he wanted was to spend time with our girls and me to make up for lost time," she wrote, reflecting on the fact that Kobe hardly had any time to really enjoy his time with the family. "He wanted to be there for every single milestone and special moment in our girlsæ lives. He only got to enjoy 3 years and 9 months of retirement. We had 2 more daughters, he won an Oscar, he opened Granity studios, he became a 5x best selling author and coached Gianna’s basketball team in that time," she added.

It is evident that Venessa is missing her daughter Gigi, who would have turned 14 on May this year, too. On her birthday, the mom-of-four took to Instagram and posted a tribute with a really cheerful picture of her fellow Taurean. Happy 14th Birthday to my sweet baby girl, Gianna. Mommy loves you more than I can ever show you. You are part of MY SOUL forever. I miss you so much everyday. I wish I could wake up and have you here with me. I miss your smile, your hugs, and your giggles. I miss EVERYTHING about YOU, Gigi. I LOVE YOU so much!!!!!!" she wrote.
