Position: Washington Capitals Beat Writer
Hometown: Silver Spring, Md.
College: Howard University, 1996.
First job in journalism: General assignment sports reporter for the New York Times.
At Washington Post since: I began my second stint at The Post in Nov. 1999.
Favorite Sport: The Coolest Game on Earth, of course.
Favorite Athlete: Tiger Woods. (I call him Eldrick.)
Favorite Team: NASCAR’s Hendrick Motorsports. (Love me some Dale Earnhardt Jr.)
Favorite Writer (Other than Tom Boswell): Michael Farber, Sports Illustrated. He’s the best hockey writer on the planet.
Favorite Moment at Post: Covering the Stanley Cup Finals between the Calgary Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004. Now that was a hockey series.
Favorite Moment on WPL: Doing a live shot from the concourse at Wachovia Center during the Caps-Flyers series while a drunk fan cursed me for blocking his aisle. That took some concentration.
