Russ Thaler, host of Comcast SportsNet's daily sports talk show, Washington Post Live, was one of the original members of the Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic family, joining the network for its launch on April 4, 2001.
Before becoming the host of Washington Post Live for its launch on March 19th, 2007, Russ anchored SportsNite and SportsRise as well as performing a miriad of other duties for Comcast SportsNet over the years..
Thaler picked up a Capital Region Emmy Award for his work in 2002.
Prior to joining Comcast SportsNet, Thaler anchored both the weekday and weekend news programs on Fox SportsNet. Prior to that Russ worked for KLKN-TV, the ABC affiliate in Lincoln, NE and began his broadcasting career at WHIZ-TV-AM-FM in Zanesville, OH.
A native of Fair Lawn, NJ, Thaler graduated from Emory University in Atlanta where he captained the nationally ranked tennis team his senior year.
Russ and his wife, Brooke, live in Gaithersburg, MD and have three sons, Max, Nate, and Will.
